Club Rules

Please note: It is the responibility of all Club members to read and abide by the Club Rules.

1. NAME
The Club shall be called Tiverton Terriers Netball Club (hereinafter called the Club).

2. AFFILIATION
All league members shall be affiliated to England Netball on an annual basis with cost of affiliation to be included in membership subscription.

3. OBJECTS 

The objects of the Club and its members are to:

3.1  Enjoy the game of netball; 

3.2  Co-operate with England Netball in promoting the game;

3.3  Develop the skills of players to the best of their ability;

3.4  Ensure that all members know the rules;

3.5  Encourage members to become qualified umpires and coaches;

3.6  Use the funds generated by the Club in the best interest of the players and the game;

3.7 Show respect to all other players and officials within the game;  

3.8 All players must consider their own and the safety and well being of others at all

times.  

3.9 All members will encourage and value the performance

of other members regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious

beliefs, sexuality or social/economic status.

4.  MEMBERSHIP

4.1  Application for membership shall be made to the Membership Secretary with full

payment of membership fees.  Any application form received without payment will

not be accepted by the Club.

4.2  League members should attend all training sessions and be available for games as set

out in the league fixture lists.  If you are unavailable for any reason, the Team

Captain should be notified at the earliest opportunity.  

4.3  Members should respond to any request for information from the club within 14 days

of receiving the request.

4.4  A member shall not play for another club or team in any league, rally or tournament  in which the Club is playing without prior approval from the committee.

4.5  Members may be required to attend league and club meetings as and when they

occur.

5.  MEMBERSHIP FEES / FUNDING & FINANCE

5.1 The Club will run on a non-profit making basis with funds to be used to achieve the  aims and objectives of the Club. 

5.2 The membership fees will be a sum as determined by the committee to cover the cost

of affiliation fees imposed by England Netball, regional and county fees, and league

fees. Subs will be paid if appropriate.

5.3 The Club’s bank account is held with NatWest bank. Cheques must be signed by at

least two authorised signatories.

5.4 All fees and subscriptions, as determined by the league and England Netball, should

be paid promptly.

5.5 An accurate and proper annual statement of accounts should be maintained and be

available to view at any time.  Requests to view accounts should be made to the

Club's Treasurer and will be responded to within 28 days. 

6.  THE COMMITTEE

The management of the Club will be by the committee who will work as a whole in the best interests of the Club. 

7.  AMENDMENTS TO CONSTITUTION

No alteration or addition to the constitution shall be made until there has been full discussion and consultation with the club members at the Annual General Meeting.

8.  KIT

The official kit should be worn at all matches and tournaments (navy blue polo shirts and blue skorts).

9.  DISCIPLINE POLICY

9.1  The following infringements will result in action from the Club:
a) Regular absence at matches without notification to the Fixtures Secretary prior

to the game.

b) Any misconduct on court during training or matches which is reported back to

the Club and made as an official complaint either in writing or by email.    

9.2  If any dispute shall arise on the interpretation of this constitution or the need arises to

deal with any matter not provided for in the constitution, reference shall be made to

the committee whose decision shall be binding on all parties.  

9.3  Individual membership can be suspended or cancelled if that person’s actions are

alleged to have broken the team or league’s rules or to have brought the team or

league and the game of netball into disrepute.  Any such event must be recorded in

writing immediately giving exact details of what has taken place and may be

submitted to the club secretary by any member of the club or league.  The matter

can be brought to the attention of the committee who can, if they feel appropriate,

request assistance from the Exeter Netball Association.

9.4 The Club should abide by the rules set out by Exeter and District Netball League and

in accordance with any rules and regulations as stipulated by England Netball.

10.  RESPONSIBILITY OF PLAYERS

10.1 All players must remove jewellery before training and matches;
10.2 Nails must be no longer than finger tip length;
10.3 Appropriate clothing must be worn to training and matches;
10.4 Players must be punctual for training to ensure they have a proper warm-up;
10.5 Players are not permitted to consume alcohol or illegal substances before training

or matches;

10.6 Players are requested not to smoke thirty minutes before training or matches in

consideration of other players;
